Announcement of Introducing Vietnam Terminal Handling Charge (THC) for TPT-AET-AUT Trade

Dear Esteemed Customers,

First of all, we would like to express our sincere thanks for your supports to our services.

Please be informed that the “Vietnam Terminal Handling Charge (THC)” will be introduced for all inbound and outbound shipments for different trade lanes with detail as below:

  1. Asia – Europe trade (Vietnam – Europe trade): US$65/20’ and US$98/40’ applicable from May 01, 2007 basing on onboard date.

  1. Trans-Pacific Trade (Vietnam – U.S.A. trade): US$65/20’; US$98/40’ and US$140/45’HQ applicable from May 15, 2007 basing on cargo receiving date.

  1. Trans-Pacific Trade (Vietnam – Canada trade): US$65/20’; US$98/40’ and US$140/45’HQ applicable from June 01, 2007 basing on cargo receiving date.

  1. Asia – Australian / New Zealand Trade (Vietnam – Australian / New Zealand trade): US$65/20’ and US$98/40’ applicable from July 01, 2007 basing on onboard date.

  1. THC for Intra-Asia Trade will be announced separately.

The THC, which represents the costs incurred in loading/discharging containers at Vietnamese container ports from stack to ship's hold or vice versa and will be shown as a separate charge on future shipping line documentation.

The THC introduction is a commercial issue that intends to bring Vietnamese shipping business practices in line with norms being applied in all other Asian countries. It is believed that this THC introduction will further benefit Vietnamese imports and exports, as it will enable ocean freight rates to be priced based on service quality and market/supply conditions.

We thanks for your kind understanding on this issue and your continued supports will be highly appreciated.

Sincerely yours,
