OOCL Chief Information Officer Resigns
On December 13, 2006, Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) announced that Mr Ken Chih has resigned as Director and CIO of the company, effective Jan 1, 2007 for personal reasons. “For 13 years, Ken made substantial contributions to OOCL’s development in IT. Under his leadership, we have provided some of the industry’s leading IT solutions for customers and users“, said Phillip Chow, Chief Executive Officer of OOCL. “We would like to acknowledge Ken's contribution to the company with deepest gratitude and we wish him success in his future endeavors.”
OOCL further announced that Mr Steve Siu, the current Chief Technology Officer, will be appointed as Director and CIO of OOCL, replacing Mr Chih.
Mr Siu joined OOCL in 1987. As the Chief Technology Officer of OOCL, Mr Siu was instrumental in creating OOCL’s development centers in Hong Kong, San Jose, Manila, Shanghai and Zhuhai; capitalizing on the strengths of our global resources for the development of industry-leading technology platforms and applications.
“With Steve’s impressive experience in Container Lines, Logistics and Industry Portals, he will sustain OOCL’s IT leadership in the industry, and drive OOCL’s strategic development in the years ahead,” said Mr Chow.
