for Solid Waste Import to China

Dear Valued Customer,

OOCL would like to inform you on some regulatory changes for waste imports to China.  

According to the announcement from Authorities in China in Apr 2018 that effective from Dec 31st, 2018 as of cargo arrival date, 16 kinds of solid wastes have been banned to import to China already. Furthermore, effective from December 31st, 2019 onwards, another 16 kinds of solid waste including wood scrap, waste cork, waste stainless steel, and other metal and metal-alloy wastes are shifted to “Catalogue of Solid Wastes Forbidden to Import in China” and will be banned to import to China.​​

To ensure full compliance with the regulatory requirements, customers are strongly recommended to check with official sources to see if the new import regulations apply to you, and if so, you must obtain valid license(s) or permit(s) and provide accurate cargo names as well as all necessary information to OOCL at the time of booking. OOCL will NOT accept cargoes beyond the allowed scopes from October 15th, 2019 onwards.
