OOCL Japan Branch– Development of KTX and niche port services
Since the late 1990s, OOCL Japan has worked closely with customers to develop services connecting Japan with the broader Intra Asia region. These efforts have evolved into KTX service, now firmly established as a core service under OOCL brand, linking Japan with major ports across Intra Asia.
KTX service currently comprises 4 loops- KTX1, KTX2, KTX3, and KTX4- providing extensive coverage across key Asian gateway. In addition to its robust Intra Asia network, the service is seamlessly connected to North America, Europe, Mediterranean, Australia, and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, JPX service, which connects Japan and th e United States, remains active and continues to play a vital role in Trans Pacific trade.
Beyond its global network, OOCL Japan is actively expanding feeder services through niche ports across Japan. Since 2009, under the national strategic port policy, dedicated domestic feeder vessels have been deployed. This initiative enables smooth connection with KTX services, shortens lead times, enhances schedule reliability, and contributes to environmental sustainability. As a result, feeder coverage has expanded to 48 niche ports nationwide.
OOCL Japan remains committed to delivering optimized KTX and feeder deployment plans, tailored to each customer's cargo volume and specific logistics requirements.
