ANNOUNCEMENT
Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd would like to announce that this October 2013, we will be applying an increase in the Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) and implementing a new surcharge, the Late Collection Fee (LCF).
Please take note of the following details:
A. EIS:
· The quantum for Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) shall be revised from: USD90 per Teu to: USD100 per Teu.
· EIS is applicable to all DRY and REEFER inbound cargo from all Intra Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand origins to the Philippines.
· As a destination surcharge, the Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) shall be settled by the local consignee, regardless if the trade term of the shipment is Prepaid or Collect.
· Implementation date will be October 1, 2013 (On Board Date).
The increase is necessary to address the increases in Stevedoring and other port charges, as well as the widening container imbalance ratio between Import and Export and subsequently, all the associated costs related to reposition the boxes. This will enable us to continue providing quality and competitive service to the Philippines.
B. LCF:
· To speed up the release of D/O or R/O to relieve potential congestion and enhance productivity, a late payment charge (LCF), similar to late bills of lading collection shall be assessed for the non-payment of all destination associated charges in the Bill of Lading within 10 calendar days of vessel arrival.
· Examples of these destination associated charges are, but not limited to, Terminal Handling at Destination (THD), Documentation Fee (DCF), Equipment Imbalance Surcharge (EIS) and the Cleaning Fee (CLE).
· This is also applicable for all Trades from all Origins for both Dry and Reefer cargo.
· It will NOT include Detention.
· The quantum for the LCF is USD40 per BL.
· For all shipments from the US/Canada, the implementation date shall be October 9, 2013 (Cargo Received Date).
· For all shipments originating from NON US/Canada, the implementation date will be October 1, 2013 (On Board Date).
The application of LCF is to encourage all our customers to settle all obligations to OOCL at the soonest possible time. This will also assist in minimizing any port congestion that may also prevent you from securing your cargo in a timely manner as well.
