Operational Restrictions

1. Road Limitation

  • The weight limitations in the Philippines are as follows: 24,000 kgs. for 20'GP, 30,000 kgs. for 40'GP, and 32, 000 kgs. for 40'HQ, 20' and 40' reefers. These weights include the cargo payload and the container tare weight.
  • The height limitation is 14.5 feet or 4.4 meters.
  • There are no restrictions regarding transportation of highcube containers and 45' containers within the Philippines.

 2. Dangerous Cargo

  • No movement of dangerous cargo shall be allowed unless covered by an appropriate Handling Permit. The Handling Permit shall contain specific conditions and instructions relative to the nature of dangerous cargo to be handled and operations required.
  • The Dangerous Cargo List shall be accomplished by the requesting party and shall be submitted to the Safety Office at least 24 hous in advance of any scheduled arrival or handling for approval.
  • Deviations from specified Dangerous Cargo List or non-compliance with safety instructions stipulated on the Handling Permit, shall render the Handling Permit null and void and shall result in stoppage or operations without prejudice to any fines or legal sanctions which may be imposed by PPA Port of Manila.
