OOCL (UK) Ltd will be open during normal business hours over the Christmas and New Year period, with the exception of Monday 25th December, Tuesday 26th December, and Monday 1st January when all offices will be closed. Our Glasgow office will also be closed Tuesday 2nd January.

From the 1st January 2007 our Inland Fuel Surcharge will reduce from 9.07% to 6.78%.
This surcharge applies to all carrier haulage within the UK, unless otherwise stated in the rate agreement or service contract that covers the shipment concerned.

We are pleased to announce that effective November 25th, the present OOCL dedicated SBX3 service linking Grangemouth, Hull, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Amsterdam will be replaced by the new “UK Express”, which will link Grangemouth and Hull with the port of Southampton.
The weekly sailings provided by the 260-teu mv ‘Elisabeth’ will provide relay to and from OOCL’s Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and North America services.

Trans Atlantic Conference Agreement (TACA) Scope Cargo
Based upon the softening of fuel prices during the latest monitoring period, TACA’s current Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF), will be adjusted with effect from November 16th, 2006 to the following levels:

Due to increased costs for road transport moving via Leeds and Manchester railheads we will be implementing increases to our haulage tariff for all cargo moving via these locations with effect from 1st October 2006.
The increases will be approx GBP 5 to 10 per 20/40GP & HQ.

From early September 2006 the UK port call for our Transatlantic GEX1, GAX, GMX and PAX services will change from Thamesport to Southampton. We can confirm there will be no changes to port rotation of the services concerned, day of UK call, or transit times.

We would like to remind customers that from 5th July 2006 US Customs have been ordering any goods or wood packaging materials that do not comply with the Wood Packaging Material Regulations introduced in 2005 to be immediately returned to the country from where they were shipped. The measures require that wood packing material be heat-treated or fumigated, then stamped with an identification code.
