We are pleased to announce that effective November 25th, the present OOCL dedicated SBX3 service linking Grangemouth, Hull, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Amsterdam will be replaced by the new “UK Express”, which will link Grangemouth and Hull with the port of Southampton.
The weekly sailings provided by the 260-teu mv ‘Elisabeth’ will provide relay to and from OOCL’s Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and North America services. This switch has been facilitated following the transfer in early September of our Trans-Atlantic services from Thamesport to Southampton.
The new “UK Express” (UKX) calling at only three ports will offer a very reliable schedule. The rotation of the service will be Southampton (ETA Saturday, ETS Sunday), Hull (ETA Tuesday, ETS Wednesday), Grangemouth (ETA/ETS Thursday), and Southampton (ETA Saturday, ETS Sunday). The increased buffer time in the new rotation will allow us to maintain schedule integrity throughout the winter and to enhance connectivity with our deep sea services.
Consequently, cargo from Hull and Grangemouth will now be subject to the same documentary cut-offs as cargo loading Southampton, where previously to meet Dutch Customs requirements we have had to file manifest information at least 24 hours prior to the feeder vessels arrival in Rotterdam.
Our Customer Service Units in Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester and Levington, and our Sales Representatives will be happy to answer any question you may have regarding this enhanced feeder operation.
