Please be aware of the new requirements that will be implemented by the Port Klang – Port Authority with effect from 1st April, 2009.
On a mandatory basis, all container lines will be required to provide the Customs Harmonized Code (HS Code - first 6 digits) covering cargo for transshipment at Port Klang, Malaysia (PKG) only. This requirement does not currently affect any other port in Malaysia.
In order for us to comply with this directive we would request that during the booking process at the port of loading, customers are to kindly requested to confirm the 6 digits of HS code to our customer service team.
Any shipment which is without the HS code will be subjected to additional cargo inspection, and penalties may be imposed. The quantum of penalties will be between MYR 100 to MYR 5000.
