Please be advised that with effect January 1, 2010, the "Gulf of Aden Surcharge" or 'GAS' will be revised to USD43/TEU for traffic between the whole of Asia and Europe (both bounds).
This is to continue to cover the ongoing costs of operating within the Gulf of Aden sea lanes and providing safe passage of all cargo, crew, and vessels under the constant threat of piracy still present within the region.
Customers are reminded that our new Service Routes phasing-in over the New Year all transit via Suez, so the new Gulf of Aden Surcharge will apply for all 3 loops.
