Changes to Local Surcharges in the UK and Ireland

Customers are advised of the following updates to our tariffs effective 1st March 2010:

  • The UK Inland Haulage Dangerous Goods Surcharge will increase by GBP 5 to GBP 35 per vehicle.  
     
  • Fumigation in Southampton will increase to GBP 265 per container if the requirement for fumigation is is pre-advised to OOCL Customer Service before arrival on the quay. A supplementary charge of GBP 200 per container applies if units needing fumigation are received on the quay without the requirement being pre-advised.
     
  • Fumigation in Dublin will be EUR 300 per container.
     
  • A Booking Cancelation Fee will be applied when Confirmed bookings are canceled by customers less than 72 hours prior to vessel arrival at Port of Load. For UK bookings this will be GBP 20 per cancelation, and for Irish bookings EUR 25 per cancelation.
     
  • A Booking Amendment Fee will be levied for changes to bookings requested by customers. This covers OOCL administration costs, including but not limited to updates in the executive information when containers have been received onto a terminal covered by a port user system. The fee will be GBP 35 per amendment for UK or EUR 25 per amendment for Ireland.
     
  • Our Export Documentation Fee for the UK will increase by GBP 5 to GBP 30 per B/L.
     
  • The Import Documentation Fee will for the UK will increase by GBP 5 to GBP 30 per B/L, and for Ireland will increase by EUR 2 to EUR 52 per B/L.

Finally customers are reminded that OOCL passes on any 3rd party Port Ancillary Charges such as but not limited to shunts for port health and customs inspections.

The changes mentioned above will apply to all bookings and B/Ls unless explicitly agreed otherwise in the prevailing rate agreement or Service Contract.

For rating purposes, the shipment dates are defined as:-

Australia / New Zealand  On Board Date
Intra Europe  Sailing Date
