We need your EORI numbers NOW !! Providing OOCL with your EORI number will reduce your customs risk analysis score when you are a shipment party for shipments into the EU. EORI numbers should be provided to OOCL local offices in writing by the Legal Entity or a Branch thereof. The EORI number will be used in any ENS submission undertaken by OOCL (the Carrier) where the legal entity or Branch is shown as a party in the Shipping Instructions.

Customers are advised of the following changes to UK Local Surcharges which will come into effect 1st February 2011. Our B/L Amendment Fee for non-Transatlantic and non-China shipments will increase to £40 per amendment. This means that customers will have one standardised B/L or Advance Manifesting Amendment Fee, regardless of shipment destination.

To avoid query, cargo delay and possible cost implications we ask export customers to take special care when providing seal numbers on their Shipping Instructions. Cases have recently come to light where manifested seal numbers have differed from those physically attached to containers, but only by virtue of being slightly different in format. Rate of Exchange Setting Customers are advised that we have changed the way we set vessel Rates of Exchange. Our tariff rules have been amended so that the follow methodologies are employed: For export shipments, payment of freight and charges in the UK and Ireland in local currency is now based on the daily spot rates published by the European Central Bank 10 working days prior to the scheduled departure date of the trunk vessel from load port in Europe. Further to our previous customer advisories about the EU regulation 1875/2006, effective January 1st 2011, all ocean carriers are required to submit a list of legislation-defined data elements to EU Customs at a vessel's first EU port of call, at least 24 hours prior to cargo loading onboard the European Union bound vessel. The regulation is applicable to all import cargo to or via any EU Port.
