Huangpu Port Congestion

We would like to inform you that Huangpu's Old Port Big Terminal has been seriously congested since early July. This has largely been caused by an influx of cargo through the Huangpu gateway before the cancellation of export tax refund on 406 different commodities from July 15, 2010. This is affecting both inbound and outbound cargo.

More and more feeders are idling outside the port waiting to be discharged. It is expected cargo connections will be delayed at least 5-7 days and now we have around 200 units idling at Hong Kong waiting for connection.

Our Inbound Customer Service team in China have been calling the consignees to see if they are willing to switch to another Huangpu terminal, as a contingency arrangment in order to speed up the connection.

To check exact current status of specific shipments over Huangpu we encourage you to use our website's cargo tracking facility, or contact your local Customer Service team.
