Road Traffic Safety Rule In South China

According to a public notice from Shenzhen Municipality (No.125), effective 1 August 2010, the relevant government department will tighten the control on the Punishment for violations of Laws on Road Traffic Safety in South China.

Any truck which is loaded over the maximum cargo weight capacity of the tractor will be detained and will be subject to a heavy penalty.  The escalating penalty will be imposed not only on the drivers but also the tractor owners and users. In addition to the penalty, the driver's license will be seized by the governement department for a minimum period of 30 days.

We have issued this announcement to remind our customers to avoid any over-loading of containers, and with immediate effect, we will observe any container that exceeds the legal road weight limitation.  Shipment of containers with weight exceeding the maximum permitted limit should be arranged as CY only unless arrangements have been made to remove cargo from the container in order to reduce the weight.

All extra charges will be for the account of cargo including but not limited to any official overweight penalty, COD administration fee, and rehandling fee if incurred.
