Backlog of ICD/Dhaka Inbound Containers Movements
 
Due to acute shortage of Railway Wagon and increasing congestion for movements of ICD/Dhaka bound laden import containers, the containers after discharging from Feeder vessels at Port of Chittagong are waiting as per serial to get its turn to move to ICD/Dhaka. At present, approximate 1800 Teus of different Main Line Operators, piled up in Chittagong Port awaiting ICD/Dhaka dispatch, the delay in average of 20-25 days to dispatch to ICD/Dhaka (Inland container depot- about 300kms, North of Chittagong Port). Importers (Consignees) are expressing great concern due to heavy delay & giving our office pressure to arrange quick dispatch – unfortunately which is not under our control.

POL CSV colleagues are requested to adv. their valued shippers about the situation whenever accepting booking cargo for POD: Chittagong, FND: ICD, Kamalapur, and Dhaka to avoid later disappointments from both shipper & consignee.
