How can I track my cargo online directly (e.g. ETA of the shipment)?

Please go to http://www.oocl.com/ and type in your container or bill of lading number under “Cargo Tracking,” and then click “Go”.

The search results show the port pair of routing, container information, vessel departure and arrival information.


Can I arrange first available cargo pickup time for my urgent container (Hot Box request)?

You can request to pick up the container at the first available time for your urgent shipment, subject to terminal approval. Before shipment arrival in Hong Kong, please call our hotline to make a hot box request. Please inform your trucker to call the terminal 3 hours before vessel arrival to confirm the actual available pickup time.


How do I request to change the shipping parties and re-issue a new set B/L (Switch B/L service)?

For such requests, you should send a written request/ OOCL standard request form at least 3 working days prior to vessel arrival port of discharge/ final destination.


Are there any shortcut-keys for checking the information in Customer Service Hotline?

Empty return location in Release Order shows Hong Kong terminal or depot, but I would like to return the empty container to the South China depot.  What can I do?

You are encouraged to do this.  Please call our Operation – Equipment Team, Tel: 852-2426 3715 to check if an empty return to the South China depot is workable.


What should I do if I need to change the free demurrage / detention period of the import shipment?

  • You are required to email us at hkgibcsv@oocl.com for general cargo / ohklrfcsd@oocl.com for reefer cargo with standard template as following:
    ( For general cargo -  outlook / rich text format ; for reefer cargo - outlook / rich text format )
  • If Demurrage and/or Detention payment is involved, you can simply bank in the charges  to our designated bank accounts.
  • After payment, please email us at hkgibfna@oocl.com with the bank's deposit slip and together with the "Demurrage/ Detention Payment Transaction Notification" form. 
  • An email confirmation including updated free time and container number will be sent to you.
  • We will instruct the terminal / depot to update the new Demurrage / Detention period.
  • You are no longer to submit your release order / delivery order to counter office for updating the Demurrage / Detention period, please bring along your on hand Release Order / Delivery Order for cargo pick up and empty container return at terminal / depot directly.
