Following our announcement of November 30th, we would like to bring to your attention that the implementation date of our Peak Season Surcharge has been rescinded to January 1st, 2012 and will be applicable to all shipments from Asia to Europe.

Terminal Handling Charges for Eastbound Transatlantic Trades
On December 1st we advised customers that our European tariff structure for Terminal Handling and Security Surcharges would be changing on January 1st 2012 for all trades. (VIEW)
Upon further consideration we have decided, for Eastbound Transatlantic shipments only, to postpone these changes until April 1st 2012.

Grand Alliance announces temporary suspension of LPD service in Far East-Europe routes
The member lines of the Grand Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL, have decided to temporarily suspend their LPD Service between Far East and Europe with effect from November 13, 2011 until further notice.

We wish to bring to your attention the changes that we are making to the Irish Terminal Handling Charges.
Considering on one hand our notice dated September 1st 2011 re updated Irish THCs, and on the other our customers' wish to see a simplification of our tariffs, the new Terminal Handling Charges will now include OOCL's Security Surcharge. In ports where the terminal operator bills a Terminal Security Charge to the clearing agent, the process will remain unchanged. (Click above link to view all)

Customers are advised that with effect 1st December 2011 our Irish Export Documentation Fee (DOC) will be structured as follows:
Where neither the Booking or Shipping Instruction is submitted electronically*, EUR 52 per B/L
Where either the Booking or Shipping Instruction is submitted electronically*, EUR 25 per B/L
Where both the Booking and Shipping Instruction is submitted electronically*, EUR 10 per B/L

Please specify on your Shipping Instructions if you need more than 1 Copy.

Following a recent review, customers are advised that we will increase the Irish Terminal Handling Charge for dry cargo from €130 to €140 on 1st October 2011.
The new rate will apply to all shipments to or from The Republic of Ireland unless otherwise agreed in the prevailing Service Contract or Rate Agreement.

The European Union (EU) Commission and Member States agreed that the grace period for compliance to EU Regulation 1875/2006 would be effective until June 30, 2011, and there has not been any indication regarding the possibility of an extension beyond this date. It is therefore expected that this EU regulation will be strictly enforced starting from July 1, 2011, and anyone who fails to comply will face cargo delays and potential penalties which will incur costs to businesses.
