OOCL Expands its Japan, Greater China Service

OOCL will expand its Kanto/Kansai Taiwan South China Express (KTX) service by adding a second loop (KTX2) to complement the existing KTX1 service. The new two-loop KTX service will increase many of its port calls to twice weekly.

The extended port coverage and added frequency will improve its outbound transit time from the Kanto area and its inbound transit time to the Kansai area. The increased capacity of the two-loop service will enable OOCL to meet the demand of this highly reliable and popular service.

"We have seen significant growth in cargo movement in the markets covered by our KTX service, " said Mr. Stephen Ng, Director of Intra-Asia Service, OOCL. "The introduction of an additional KTX loop is in response to the increasing demand from our customers for a reliable service to support their supply chain management."

The new loop will commence on 12th September, 2002 departing at Shekou with port rotation as follows:

KTX2 - Osaka/Kobe/Nagoya/Yokohama/Tokyo/Keelung/HongKong/Shekou/Hong Kong/Xiamen/Osaka.

The schedule of the existing service will be slightly modified with port rotation as follows:

KTX1 - Tokyo/Kawasaki/Chiba/Kobe/Osaka/Kaohsiung/Hong Kong/Shekou/Hong Kong/Xiamen/Tokyo
