Terminal Handling Charges for Eastbound Transatlantic Trades
On December 1st we advised customers that our European tariff structure for Terminal Handling and Security Surcharges would be changing on January 1st 2012 for all trades. (VIEW)
Upon further consideration we have decided, for Eastbound Transatlantic shipments only, to postpone these changes until April 1st 2012.

Grand Alliance announces temporary suspension of LPD service in Far East-Europe routes
The member lines of the Grand Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL, have decided to temporarily suspend their LPD Service between Far East and Europe with effect from November 13, 2011 until further notice.

We wish to bring to your attention the changes that we are making to the UK Terminal Handling Charges that have been in place since January 1st 2010.

This is to advise that OOCL will implement a Peak Season Surcharge of USD 200 per TEU, applicable to all shipments from Asia to Europe effective from December 26, 2011.

Customers are advised that, pursuant to the requirements of IMDG Code Amendment 35 which comes into force on January 1st 2012, OOCL will start to treat shipments of all cars and motor vehicles as Dangerous Goods.
According to Amendment 35, motor vehicles or machinery powered by fuel cell or combustion engines shall be consigned as UN 3166 Class 9, and subject to Special Provisions 312, 356, 961 and 962.

Customers are advised of changes to our Import Lo/Lo (Equipment Handover Charge) in the Republic of Ireland. With effect 1st May 2011 this surcharge will be applied for all import containers released for Merchant Haulage, regardless of cargo origin, at a standardised rate of EUR 60 per container. Customers are advised that, with immediate effect, import containers will only be released or delivered upon receipt of cleared funds.
Whilst our preferred method of payment is bank transfer, we can accept GBP payments by cheque, subject to cleared funds being available in our account prior to release or delivery. You should allow 7 working days for cheques to clear, per the Cheque Clearing Cycle.
