December

The Grand Alliance (GA) carriers - Hapag-Lloyd (HL), MISC Berhad (MISC), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) , and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL)- today announced a revised Asia-West Mediterranean service (EUM), which will include the New World Alliance (NWA) lines - APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

OOCL has been named as “Best of the Best” ocean carrier by US-based World Trade Magazine, in a survey of more than 19,000 readers who ship products using ocean carriers. The results were published as part of a new editorial feature, “Performance Partners Awards of Excellence”.

OOCL is pleased to announce the opening of a new branch office in Kolkata, India, on December 5, 2008. The new office is strategically located in the state of West Bengal in Eastern India.

The Grand Alliance (GA) carriers – Hapag-Lloyd (HL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) – today announced a revised Asia-US East Coast service, which will include the New World Alliance (NWA) lines – APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

OOCL is delighted to announce it has been named as a winner of the “InfoWorld 100 Awards”, published on November 17 in California, US.

OOCL is delighted to announce that the company has signed a cooperation agreement with Zhejiang International Maritime Professional Technology College (ZIMC) to build an OOCL Maritime Academy.

OOCL is pleased to announce the opening of a new branch office in Mundra, India, on November 10, 2008. The new office is strategically located in North West India, in the state of Gujarat.

OOCL has announced the appointment of Mr Andy Tung as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the OOCL Group, effective January 1, 2009.

September

OOCL is pleased to announce it will establish its own office, OOCL (Poland) Limited Sp.z o.o, based in Gdynia, to develop its business in Poland. The effective date will be October 1, 2008. The Country Manager for OOCL in Poland will be Leszek Walkusz.

August

The Grand Alliance (GA) will further improve its cargo hub services in the Mediterranean. The GA’s transshipment hub will be changed from Gioia Tauro to Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT), in southern Sardinia, Italy, from mid September 2008.

The Grand Alliance (GA) has enhanced its service between the Mediterranean and Asia (EUM) to proactively cater to our customers’ needs.

OOCL is pleased to announce the launch of our new dedicated feeder service between Singapore and Surabaya, Indonesia. The new service, to be launched on August 11, 2008 from Singapore, will be called the Surabaya Feeder Service (SBY) and is solely operated by OOCL. This will be OOCL’s first dedicated service calling Surabaya.

Orient Overseas (International) Limited (“OOIL”) Group today announced a profit attributable to shareholders of US$158.3 million for the first six months of 2008.

OOCL’s Global Data Centre has been accredited with the ISO 27001 Certification for a period of three years (2008-2011). The certification is an internationally-recognized code of practice for the management and protection of information security.

OOCL is pleased to announce that it has recently joined the Hong Kong-based Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) as a Gold Member, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental care.

OOCL is pleased to announce the launch of our new Indian Subcontinent East Coast Express (IEX) connecting India and Pakistan to the US East Coast.

OOCL-operated Long Beach Container Terminal Inc (LBCTI) has been awarded the first San Pedro Bay Ports Air Quality Excellence Award, announced by the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles at a luncheon on July 16 in Long Beach, California.

On July 2, OOCL passed revalidation for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and gained a renewal of its certificate.

OOCL is pleased to announce a new feeder service between Haiphong in north Vietnam and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. The new service is called the “Haiphong Kaohsiung Feeder” (HPH) and will be launched on July 9, 2008 from Haiphong.

June

The member lines of the Grand Alliance (GA) and The New World Alliance (TNWA) are pleased to announce a jointly operated service from Asia to the Black Sea, starting mid-June 2008.

OOCL is pleased to announce a new service combining our existing Jakarta (JKT2) and Penang (PEN) feeder services. The new service is called the Indonesia –Malaysia service (IMS) and will be launched on July 3, 2008 from Singapore.

The Grand Alliance is pleased to announce the implementation of a ninth vessel (6,200 TEU) to join its Japan/North Europe Service (EU1). The addition completes an environmentally-friendly program, aimed at lowering emissions, which has been implemented on the Grand Alliance North Europe-Far East Services.

OOCL is pleased to announce the establishment of our Da Nang branch office, based in the city of Da Nang in central Vietnam, on May 1, 2008.

OOCL is proud to announce on April 24, 2008, the christening of the sixth Panamax class vessel in our line of sixteen 4,500-TEU vessels ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries.

NZS partners MISC Berhad, Mitsui O.S.K Lines Ltd (MOL), Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Pacific International Lines Ltd will combine the current NZX1 and NZX2 services into one upgraded loop, the New Zealand – South East Asia (NZS) service.

OOCL is proud to announce that for the second consecutive year, it has achieved a compliance level of 100% for the Voluntary Vessel Speed Reduction program with the Port of Long Beach’s Green Flag Incentive Program, for the year of 2007.

The Grand Alliance is pleased to announce the implementation of a new EU5 Service and updates to our dedicated Far East service. These changes reflect our commitment to responding to the needs of customers due to the growth of the Chinese mainland market.

OOCL Logistics (China) Ltd. announced today that it has acquired 83,455 sq m. of land in Lingang Logistics Park in Shanghai. Within the next 10 months, OOCL Logistics will build warehouse and depot facilities for international customers who use Yangshan Deepwater Port container terminals as a gateway for their global supply chain.

ANL Singapore Pte Ltd (ANL), China Shipping Container Line (CSCL) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) have announced that they will upgrade their ANL/ ACE North Asia (AANA) service. The AANA services the vital trade lanes between Japan, Korea, China(including Taiwan), to/from Australia.

OOCL is proud to announce on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, the christening of the new 4,578 TEU vessel, OOCL Texas, built by Samsung Heavy Industries.

OOIL today announced a profit attributable to shareholders of US$2,547 million for the year ended 31st December 2007, compared to the profit of US$580.6 million recorded in 2006. The reported profit for year 2007 included a gain of US$1.99 billion from the disposal of Terminals Division.

OOCL is pleased to announce a new office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, effective from February 1, 2008. The Phnom Penh office will enhance OOCL’s network in the Indo-China region and will provide OOCL customers with a vital link to world trade.

OOCL has donated US$40,000 to the California-based Long Beach Education Foundation, the Long Beach Unified School District’s fundraising arm. The money was designated for two outstanding schools: $20,000 for the Elizabeth Hudson K-8 Academy’s middle school level computer laboratory, and $20,000 for the Poly High School Pac Rim language laboratory

Grand Alliance members Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) are upgrading a service on the North Europe - North USA Atlantic Trade, in cooperation with ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd.
