December

Effective December 31, Mr. Alan Tung was re-designated as Chief Financial Officer.


October

OOCL celebrated the christening of its final 8,888 TEU class containership, m.v. OOCL Ho Chi Minh City, in the line of eight ordered from Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Shipyard on Changxing Island in Shanghai on October 29 by the sponsor Ms. Cheung Yan, the Chairlady of Nine Dragons Paper Group.


August

OOCL is proud to have received the 2015 Singapore Environmental Achievement Award (Regional) (SEAA) at a ceremony held by the Singapore Environment Council’s (SEC) 20th Anniversary Gala on August 26, 2015.  The award was launched by the then Minister for the Environment, Mr. Yeo Cheow Tong in November 1997 to honor outstanding organizations and companies for their overall environmental stewardship, environmental management and performance as well as leadership and innovation in sustainability. 

OOCL announced the christening of the latest 8,888 TEU newbuilding, m.v. OOCL Genoa on August 26, by Mrs. Tamiko Onaka, the wife of Mr. Koichi Onaka, Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, on Changxing Island in Shanghai.

Orient Overseas (International) Limited and its subsidiaries today announced a profit attributable to equity holders, after tax and non-controlling interests, of US$238.6 million for the six-month period ended 30th June 2015, compared with US$181.3 million for the same period in 2014.

Accredited by Lloyd’s Register (LR), OOCL has once again achieved dual reporting standards through the use of Clean Cargo Working Group (CCWG) and ISO 14064-1:2006 verification tools.

OOCL is proud to have received 2014 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) Gold Award in the Transport and Logistics Sector category at a ceremony held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

March

OOCL placed an order for the construction of six 20,000 TEU class vessels with Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea to strengthen fleet competitiveness.

The naming of  the m.v. OOCL Utah, the latest 8,888 TEU newbuilding delivered, was held on March 31 in Shanghai by Mrs. Nancy Hale from Utah, together with her husband, Mr. Val Hale, Executive Director of Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, as our Guest of Honor.

Orient Overseas (International) Limited and its subsidiaries announced that the Group was profitable for the year 2014 by recording a profit attributable to equity holders for 2014 of US$270.5 million, representing earnings per ordinary share of US43.2cents.

OOCL announced the christening of the newest 8,888 TEU newbuilding, m. v.OOCL Taipei on January 6 , by Mrs. Mylene Seah, the wife of Mr. Peter Seah, Chairman of DBS Bank Limited, on Changxing Island in Shanghai.
