OOCL was pleased to announce a co-operation with CMA CGM S.A. (CMA CGM), China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) and Pacific International Lines (PIL) on a new service in the North East Asia, Australia and New Zealand trades commencing from Shanghai in early November.

Through the use of both Clean Cargo Working Group (CCWG) and ISO 14064-1 verifications for the first time to certify the transparency, accuracy, completeness, consistency and relevance of its data disclosure on vessel emissions in 2013, OOCL was accredited by the Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), an independent business assurance service provider based in the United Kingdom, after the carbon dioxide, sulphur oxides and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) (Scope 1) emission levels of its vessels were being checked.

OOCL celebrated the naming of the tenth 13,208 TEU containership OOCL Singapore on May 20, 2014. The vessel was named by Mrs. Brenda Lo, Managing Director, Asia, of Permal (Hong Kong) Limited and the wife of Mr. Weber Lo, Citi Country Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Citi Hong Kong and Macau.

The naming of OOCL Korea was held on Geoje Island in South Korea. The newest 13,208 TEU containership joined the OOCL fleet to provide quality and competitive services in the Asia-Europe trade.

Despite challenging market conditions, Orient Overseas (International) Limited and its subsidiaries announced that the Group was profitable for the year 2013, recording a profit attributable to shareholders of US$47.0 millions. Earnings per ordinary share was US7.5 cents.

Members of the G6 Alliance released details on port rotations for the proposed service expansion to the Asia-North America West Coast and Trans-Atlantic trade lanes, announced in early December last year.

OOCL together with APL and Maersk Line announced a new cooperation on three existing Far East to Indian Subcontinent services, starting in February 2014.
