A christening ceremony was held on Geoje Island in South Korea to celebrate the delivery of the Fourth 13, 208 TEU containership, m.v. NYK Hercules.
March
The naming of the m.v. OOCL Memphis was held in Shanghai. The newest 8,888 TEU vessel was to join our fleet for the Super Shuttle Express (SSX) service on the Trans-Pacific trade, connecting Asian and North American markets.
The christening ceremony of the m.v. OOCL Berlin was held on Geoje Island in Korea. It is the second 13,208 TEU mega vessel to join OOCL’s fleet this year and was to be deployed on Loop 4 of the Asia–Europe service.
OOCL introduced a new service, the Southeast Asia Australia Service (ASAL), by combining and restructuring two existing consortium networks.
Orient Overseas (International) Limited and its subsidiaries announced a profit attributable to shareholders for 2012 of US$296.4 million, compared to a profit of US$181.6 million in 2011.

A year after the G6 Alliance was formed, creating one of the largest vessel networks in the Asia-to-Europe trade lane, the six member lines have agreed to expand their cooperation to the Asia-to-North America East Coast trade.

OOCL celebrated the the christening of two 13,208-TEU mega vessels, m.v. OOCL Brussels and m.v. NYK Helios at Geoje Island Shipyard in Korea, the first time the company was taking delivery of newbuilds of this size.
The naming ceremony of OOCL’s newest 8,888 TEU vessel, m.v.OOCL Miami was held on the Changxing Island shipyard in Shanghai.
The Asia Foundation and OOCL announced the continuation of their partnership to deliver books to thousands of needy educational institutions in nine countries: Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, SriLanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and peninsular and eastern Malaysia.
